Things to Know about KEAM

The Kerala Engineering, Agricultural, and Medical entrance exam (KEAM) is conducted by the Commission of Entrance Examination (CEE). This is a state-level exam. Students who wish to pursue various courses in Engineering, Architecture, and Medical that are offered at various government and private colleges in Kerala have to clear this exam. This exam is one of the popular entrance exams in Kerala.

Students can view the updates regarding the exam on the official website of the commission of the entrance exam. Those who wish to appear for the KEAM exam are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for this exam. CEE will reject the applications of students who do not meet the eligibility criteria. Following are some of the important factors in the eligibility criteria.

  • Nationality

The minimum age requirement is 17 years and there is no upper age limit. Students who have cleared the Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) Kerala or equivalent examination with Physics and Maths as mandatory subjects are eligible to appear for this exam. Chemistry is an optional subject which can be substituted by Computer Science, Biotechnology or Biology) as per the situation and requirement. A minimum of 45% marks is required for the 12th grade exam. A relaxation of 5% marks is given to those who belong to reservation categories.

How to Download Application Form

Following are the steps to download the KEAM application form.

  • Visit the official website cee.kerala.gov.in
  • Click on the ‘New Registration’ tab link.
  • Enter personal details like name, date of birth, mobile number, email address, etc. and create a password.
  • Click on the submit button.
  • Download the application form.

The exam conducting authority will allow the candidates to correct any errors while filling the application form. A correction window will be opened for a certain time, and candidates should edit the errors in the stipulated time. Candidates are advised to take a printout of the application form and keep it for future reference.

Exam Pattern

As far as any competitive exam is concerned, it is very important to have a knowledge of the exam pattern. 120 questions are included in paper 1, which are set from Physics and Chemistry subjects. Those who wish to join engineering, architecture and pharmacy courses should write this paper. There are 120 questions from Maths for paper 2. This is for those who wish to join engineering and architecture courses. Negative marking is present for the Kerala Engineering, Agricultural, and Medical entrance exam.

BITSAT

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science conducts the BITSAT exam. Those who clear this exam can join engineering, pharmacy and M.Sc. courses at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science located in Hyderabad, Pilani and Goa. Candidates can visit the official website of BITS www.bitsadmission.com and register for the exam.

BITS Pilani will release a few mock tests for the students who are appearing for the exam. Students can find these tests on the official website. Practising mock tests will help students to get a clear picture of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test. This also helps candidates to manage time and self analyse their preparation level.
